What you can expect

Comprehensive exam

Full intraoral examination, soft-tissue and oral cancer screening, periodontal charting, bite analysis, and airway evaluation, not the five-minute walkthrough you may have had elsewhere.

Modern imaging

Digital X-rays at significantly lower radiation than film. 3D cone-beam CT (CBCT) when implant or airway evaluation indicates it. We show you what we see on screen.

Treatment plan in writing

Before you leave, you have a written plan: what we found, what (if anything) needs treatment, the priority, the cost with insurance estimate, and timing options.

Time to ask questions

Dr. LaDuque is the dentist who sees you start to finish. The exam ends with time to talk, your concerns, your goals, your questions about anything we found.

The 90-minute walkthrough

Here's exactly what happens at the first visit, in order.

1. Welcome and review (15 min)

Front-desk welcome, paperwork review (if not done at home), insurance verification confirmation, and a brief tour. You meet the team you'll work with.

2. Imaging and exam (45 min)

Digital intraoral imaging, full clinical exam by Dr. LaDuque (teeth, gums, soft tissues, bite, airway), and oral cancer screening. CBCT scan if indicated.

3. Plan and questions (30 min)

Findings reviewed on screen with you. Written treatment plan delivered with priorities, costs, and insurance breakdown. Time to ask anything; time to schedule the next visit if needed.

First-visit questions

How long does the first visit take?
About 90 minutes. Comprehensive exam, full digital imaging, periodontal evaluation, airway and bite assessment, and time to talk through findings and a treatment plan if anything is needed. We don't rush this visit.
What should I bring?
Photo ID, insurance card, list of medications, and any prior dental imaging on a USB or emailed ahead. Completed new-patient forms (download from /patient-forms) save 20 minutes at check-in.
What does the first visit cost?
For insured patients, the comprehensive new-patient exam is typically covered at 100% (preventive benefit). For cash patients, our new-patient package, exam + full imaging + cleaning, is $295 paid at the time of service.
Will I get a treatment plan?
Yes. Before you leave, you'll have a written treatment plan with priorities, costs, and insurance estimates. No procedures recommended without explanation; no pressure to schedule on the spot.
What makes the first visit different from a chain practice?
Three things: airway-aware evaluation (most general dentists don't do this), comprehensive imaging (CBCT when indicated, not just bitewings), and unhurried time with the dentist who will see you forward. We're a relationship-based practice, not a high-volume model.

Schedule your first visit.

Call us or book online. We'll verify your insurance, send the new-patient packet, and have you in the chair within two weeks for most schedules.
